Resolved Question: Why can't members of the public tie a hoodie up when caught in the act of crime?

There comes a time in a man's life when he has to bite the cord of restraint that shackles him to a lifetime of servitude, misery and toil. I was thinking this to myself when an unruly Chav was trying to chew through the twine I had wrapped around his body and face to a lamp post. Why did I do this? Simple, him and some younger Hoodies had being prowling about like alley cats pilfering bikes and such out of people's gardens and flogging then to unscrupulous types that operate Cash converters and the like. So having caught the filth and his cronies in the act of slipping some articles out of an oldster's house from the back as he was out to collect his pension, I promptly knocked the lanky, rat faced piece of shite on the bonce with my brass handled walking stick and roared like a lion as the others ran off shouting out death threats and such. I was having a stroll through the back lanes of this street in the hope of catching the old boy farting about his garden and stop and have a mug of tea, talk about his lovely well kept crocuses and try and get his missus to pop out with the biscuit tin and let us have a couple of her lovely home made cookies. Makes one boil huh? The spitting, cussing example of Britain on the decline howled in derision as I placed a placard around his neck in the village centre that read; "I AM A THIEF AND PREY ON THE HELPLESS AND VULNERABLE." I sat on the memorial seat and smirked and chortled as a swathe of respectful citizens from all classes and backgrounds formed a raging line to take it turns to vent their dismay at the grubby dickwad whom was turning blue with venomous chagrin. An hour later however, after receiving several punches, slaps, sermons and so forth. . he was limp with resignation. "WELL?" I shouts at him. "Have you learnt a lesson yet? "Yeah. . . ", he mumbled. Just then a Police Officer came and said, "I'm afraid you are going to have to come to the station with me VG." "Bollocks". Says I. Apparently, this isn't the best course to take to chastise such varmints. I was let off though, as the police Sergeant owed me some monies from a bet, but thats by the by. The very same thieving tuurd is still running around getting his younger compatriots to help him with his dirty work, and still to this day listens to Gangsta Rap and talks like one of these newfangled Londoners spouting "Wicked" and all the rest in a fake Jamaican/Quasi/USA accent, he appears cheerful as he does so as he knows he can get away with it. Well, I think a radical shapeup is need here, as the Police obviously can't do anything without the public's back up. But when a member does intervene, they are up for question! This has got to be some sort of set up, if society allows such behavior, Who is really behind such actions? The EEC? Government's fear of the PC Brigade? What? WTF is going on? more

I know wood but i'm not sure about the types of brass or metals. does anyone know any specific types of woods/metals/brass that would be suitable for a lamp? the bits that would be made of wood/iron/brass etc is the base of the lamp. more

Am in need of answers to our ongoing delima. We have Phos. in house and do use it when we can. Used Brasso in1961 in ROTC...labor intensive!! We have 5 different types of blasting systems &(media) in house. We are a restoration company but...we use to be able to afford profesional brass polishing of lamps etc. Cannot afford their labor $$ any longer. We have been working with brass for many years on early autos but am looking for someone who is "in-the-know" concerning brass cleaning without a heck of a lot of work. We are more interested in the use of chemicals. Buffing speeds and tricks for polishing brass, thin, radiators and lamp bonnets. We anneal, weld, solder, bend, and have cast brass replacement parts. Do not want a barrage of questions, please. Until we have some answers as that takes time and time is something short on this end as we restore and fabricate origional wooden bodies and are a compleate restoration facility. more

the lamps are china and hollow, but too narrow to get your hand inside. the brass nut is about 15 inches away from the base of the lamp. more

Two prints of hunting scenes, walnut frames, agood buy, they cost me £8. My missus bought some tops and a couple of pairs of shorts for around £3 or so she says but i think they cost a little more.
