Open Question: URGENT: I need a free aquarium simulator I can download online for the computer for an experiment?
I have an urgent request for all of you. For a project we are doing in my chemistry class in high school, we have to design laboratories in groups of four, each focused on a different aspect of a central theme. Our theme was the aquarium, and in my experiment I wish to test how altering different variables (i.e. ammonia, pH, etc.) can affect the livelihood of organisms within the environment. I need a computer simulator, since conducting such an experiment in real life would be unethical and take too long. Now, what I need is a program that I can download for free. It needs to be realistic and have a laboratory set-up where I can manipulate independent variables and see the results they would have on different types of organisms. However, I need a program that is not overly complex either, and I need one that would automatically plot out the results from my manipulation, instead of just saving information. Are there any good programs out there that do this? Your help would be greatly appreciated. moreOpen Question: I need a good aquarium simulator I can install for free for an experiment?

I have a five gallon hex tank with one male betta and a java fern in it. Coming this fall, I will be heading to college and the betta will come with me. My parents have a 75 gallon tank which they recently switched over to sand, and it looks awesome. I would also like to switch over from gravel to sand. I would switch the sand out before putting the fish and all of the water in. The problem comes in with the filter. I have researched and have seen that you need to pretty much double your filtration when you have sand. With the way the hex is set up, the filter sets in the lid on the top, and I haven't seen any filters made for ten gallon tanks designed this way. Also with the way the lid is set up, I can't place a hanging filter on the back either. I have noticed some in tank filters that stick to the wall. Does anyone have one of these? Do they work well, and if so, what brand? Or if you have any other suggestions as to how to help me, those would be welcomed too. Thank you! This helium baloon? (Lobsters, birds, bees, chimera, oh my!)?
Thinking of the weight of an aquarium full of water and lobsters got me wondering. At first I had this thought, "in water, a ten-pound lobster would only weigh..." but I didn't even complete that silly thought before realizing that things only *feel* lighter in water due to buoyancy and feeling embarassed having even partially wondered about that. But the image of fish floating in water in an aquarium on a scale reminded me of a question I had as a child... If a 200lb man stands in a 10'x10'x10' box (sitting atop a scale) that weighs 100lbs, the combined weight is 300lbs. If he hangs from the top of the box, obviously the scale still reads 300lbs. If the box was filled with water (like in our initial aquarium scenario), the combined weight would be 200lbs + the weight of 1000 cu ft of water (some 62000 pounds it seems, though this number is irrelevant to the question) + the 100lbs of the box, regardless of his position in the box/aquarium (standing on the bottom, floating, etc.) So, the main question is, if this man jumps - or better, since he can apparently survive in a sealed box full of water, let's imagine he can levitate, or fly, hummingbird/bumblebee style by flapping his arms perhaps since that wouldn't involve defying gravity. What is the weight measured by the scale? Why? Thinking of this as a child, I remember jumping on my mother's bathroom scale repeatedly only to find that the force exerted by my jumping and landing would cause the needle to bounce wildly and I imagined the same thing would happen if I was inside a crate that was on top of the scale, leading me to think that if I could hover in the sealed crate, only the weight of the crate would register. However, if it was water, whether I was in contact with the box or not, the weight reading on the scale would stay the same, presumably because I was in contact with the water, which was in contact with the box. So then of course I thought about the weight of air, which I decided wouldn't be measured because however scales work, they're already taking atmospheric pressure into account by design, once tared to zero, which even now, just as when i was a child, gets me wondering of the weight of a helium balloon. Helium, being "lighter than air", the balloon being able to float in our atmosphere, but surely the weight of the balloon if it could be measured by the scale would be the weight of the deflated balloon plus the weight of however many cm^3 of helium, which causes me to wonder one more thing and that is, assuming the weight of our atmosphere effects the reading of the man in the box on the scale, how does the answer to the weight of our hypothetical hovering man change if the atmosphere in the crate were a vacuum. The fact that I can't imagine a way for my arm-flapping man to fly in the vacuum actually is what makes me think that as silly as asking the weight of the man-in-the-box seems, that it's a valid question - at least for someone missing some principle he'd have learned if he didn't drop Physics way back when - and that the answer may lie in the system's measurement ability, rather than any actual changing weight of the system. Someone who has made it this far in my rambling question, please clue me in. Or at least, point me at what concepts I should google to learn to answer this/these myself. Thanks!sorry, I know it's long enough as is, but I just re-read and if it isn't clear after digressing about the box being filled with water, when talking about him flapping his arms, I meant to be clear that I meant this to be the "air-filled" version of the box again.Jeff - I like your answer and since you like the question and have given a sensible answer, I'd like to extend the question a tad bit with some thoughts I left out originally just because it was already so long. I made our man fly with wing-flapping, you mentioned a rocket engine in the vacuum - there is one other angle that seems even more worth mentioning now with your feedback. What if the man had jet engines or propellers, as in a plane. It is my understanding that in this situation we'd only have gravity exerting downward force, with thrust and drag in front and in back of our flying an, and the shape of his fixed-winged arms creating lift as long as he was in forward motion. I suspected the downward force that you explained nicely, which is why I mentioned my jumping experiments as a child. If you read this further, do you have any thoughts on the weight now that our man is flying in circles in the box? Thanks!A-ha! Your answer caused me to elaborate with my question of the man now being an airplane which made me think that put that way - "an airplane flying in a giant box" - was likely to be addressed somewhere that google could find (a man jumping inside a box is seemingly absent from my queries) and voila! I found this: http://www.physicsforums.com/archive/index.php/t-170218.html So thanks again, Jeff. It seems that the forces of thrust and drag would also eventually "make their way down the jar" to the scale, which was indeed intuitive after your answer but I wanted to ask anyway. Now, this being the first question I've asked on Yahoo! ANSWERS, darned if I can see a way to accept your answer. Hrmm..-- And just after pasting that link to that other forum, I see that you replied to my previous update. Thanks much! But I still don't seem to have an option to accept your answer. I'll figure it out eventually. :-) moreResolved Question: Can someone edit my essay?
A Fish’s Story I woke up in the middle of a nightmare. Yeah, it's that weird nightmare again about getting flushed down a toilet. And then, I had another; one about our owner’s cat, Nemo, eatin’ me up. I've been having that one a lot ever since Our Loving Owner, Johnny, got rid of the stink bugs in his apartment. During meditation I had a break-through moment when I realized the genesis for the nightmare. I went to write the following down but realized once again that I still don't have waterproof pens or paper because our owner is a high-school student; what a dumb bloke. Anyway... Back in the day, when I was growing up at PetSmart, I used to hear horror stories that sometimes humans would flush away fish... even if the fish were being good. That usually led to a theological debate about whether there was something A.F. (After Flushing): A fish heaven and hell or if, as some of the fish who were running out of food pellets lamented, the final resting place is just some ol' stinky sewer. A few of the brown noser kiss ups in the aquarium would invariably bring up something they called a "Chicken or the egg debate" and puff out their gills as one would suggest the chicken came first and another would say, "No, the egg came first" and that usually led to the blowfish arguing that "we are all here as part of some intelligent design by Our Creator.” There would always be one wise arse who would ask the obvious question: "What the hell is a chicken?" He was the inverted one of us. Ol' Gray Gills - who had that old fish smell - would then whine about "Back when I was a betta fish we didn't have PetSmarts and aquariums and stores - We all just lived in ponds hoping against hope that nobody would step on us. We knew what chickens were because one ate poor ol' “Sam.” We all knew that if we didn't shut Ol' Gray Gills up he'd go on and on talking about swimming to and from school - up stream, both ways, which I still think is impossible - and on and on and about how they didn't have "fast food," his disparaging term for the Beta Bites we get. Chuck would then point out that if Ol' Gray Gills didn't want his food others would surely be glad to have it. Ol' Gray Gills' bubbles and gills would get bigger and bigger and then he'd accuse us "Kids these days of blowing bubbles up his butt just to get him angry. And we'd just laugh and laugh...Sigh. Those were the good old days. It was four minutes before Johnny’s soccer game had started. He had been running late, and his tack was probably the worst I’d seen: I watched him get up at 9:00 A.M., but the soccer game was 9:10. He had gotten into the shower at 9:05, and got out in just one minute! It was hysterical. After he got his uniform on, he was frantically trying to get his knee-high socks on. His socks were stacked up on a corrugated fiber board. Each sock had about thirty-one stitches; thirty-one was a prime number. I knew all the prime numbers all the way up to thirty-one. Pretty good for a fish, huh? Finally, Johnny had worn his Adidas Predator Pulse TRX soccer shoes and scurried out the door into his Jaguar sedan, which had a golden color, and a hint of silver-white. I heard the engine zone out and suddenly, it was a silent home with just me, the air, and oh yes, Nemo. I was incredibly bored. I swam around my aquarium tank to see the ripples and bubbles I made behind me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see behind since my eyes looking only left and right. As I digressed away from the mild sadness of no bubbles, I glided through my algae-full water right into my castle which looked really nice. It had an opening just for me in the front with two windows for me to see my kingdom: a piece of grass and rocks…great. I felt like I was the king of the world. Or, at least the king of the fish tank, conquering myself, a lonesome goldfish. As I was dazed by this fun, little daydream, I abruptly heard a loud screech from Nemo. “No! Go away Nemo! No one likes you, not even Johnny!” I screamed. He jumped effortlessly onto the table, and my fish tank was about six feet away from his furry legs. Every time he took a step I felt a vibration in the water. I glanced at the clock; it had been two hours since Johnny had left for his soccer game. I wished someone was here to save me. My life was over. Nemo was now three feet away. I quickly swam to my castle to hide from this large, furry demon. As I was in quiet darkness, hidden away from the light, I heard steps an inch or two away from me. I slowly went out to take a peek and I saw a large, ugly face of a cat. His mouth got wider and wider, and I got more and more frightened. His paw came into view, which had razor-sharp claws meant to slice and dice me. Suddenly, I heard a door open. “Johnny!” I screamed. “Nemo, get out of there now!” Johnny yelled at Nemo. Nemo followed his orders. He went to his litter-box for a good nap. Wow, Johnny saved me. He saved from a horrible death. As I moreResolved Question: what is the meaning of my dream? can anyone interpret my dream?
long story short.... i remember being in a huge strange looking aquarium. it was huge, rectangular shape, and it was green/bluish looking color (almost the color of copper when it oxidizes) and were two pillers and the walls were elegantly designed like those you see in ancient writings and arts. the aquarium was of course filled with clear blue water, but inside was me and two alligators, two king cobras, and bunch of piranhas. they all start chasing after me. the whole time i was running counter clockwise and running along the wall. i keep away from them and i notice the alligators were eating away at the piranhas, the one king cobra chasing me and the other is standing still but will attack me if i run close to it. then i remember grabbing one of the alligators and killing it. then i keep swimming around, avoiding being killed. i tried to coast the other alligator to the two king cobras, but it doesnt work. i actually grab the one king cobra, but i lose my attention and i run into the one king corba standing still and it ends up killing me... anyone, what does this mean? moreVoting Question: Is this a good aquarium?

I bartered with a guy on eBay that I would design his eBay store (i'm a professional) in return for him stocking my new 55 flat back hex aquarium with his store supplies. He sells tons of live plants, air stones, and other stuff. I was a little nervous after reading about all the care and complexity of the live plants. He did agree to do this however, and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. It's too later, I don't want to go back on my offer, but tell me, is it a nightmare, or totally worth the effort? I want a gasp worthy tank. I'm not sure what kind of fish Im going to put in it yet. Currently I have four koi, but we're building a pond outside to put them in. So I could not transfer them to the new tank and just wait for the pond to get built. moreResolved Question: Need help designing a desert-friendly humidity box.?
I own a mali uromastyx. Maybe 1.3 years old. He recently had a shed cycle and epically failed. He's got a lot of dead skin on his head/neck and around his hind legs. This skin WILL NOT peel off, nor has a shed aid helped. So, I am going to set him up a humidity box. Though, I don't know what to do in this case. I want something that will hold humidity, is easy on the wallet, and aesthetically pleasing. He's currently on construction sand (rocky/sandy substrate) and has a couple of green plants and a dead-wood basking spot. (I know they normally bask on rocks, but this holds the basking temp well and provides both a basking spot and a shady hideaway for him. Now, this is a standard 55-gallon aquarium, so please keep that in mind with your suggestions. It will be going on the far-side of the cool-end of his cage. I've thought of a flower pot as a humidity box (that's what my ball python has and loves), but I would prefer something that looks more like it belongs in a desert, as opposed to looking like it should be in a semi-tropical/suburban region. So, if you guys have ideas or experience building humidity boxes, I'd really appreciate some good-looking advice. Images would be greatly appreciated as well... Finally, is Fluker's Moss Bedding an appropriate bit for the humidity box? I have a ton of it for the snake. thanks. moreResolved Question: Aquarium photo contest?!!!!!?
The winner will receive 30 points!! Here are the rules: it must be a picture that YOU took it must be of a fish tank WITH fish (but not necessarily only fish) in it. THE FISH MUST BE FRESHWATER or brackish!!!! the tank must be a freshwater tank, and I'll accept BRACKISH water tanks too. A SEPARATE SALTWATER FISH TANK contest will come later.... You will win if: First and foremost, the tank set-up is "good-looking" (unique/beautiful fish, plants, good design, clear water and algae free substrate, etc.... The tank must be humane... (If you have a 1/2 gallon bowl with three male bettas or goldfish, etc., then I will NOT count your answer...) IF there is no clear winner, then I will decide based on how you took the photograph, lighting, clarity, and if it is just an overall good photo of a good tank. 30 points to best answer!!!! moreResolved Question: I'm designing a drink mixer and it has a problem with dripping...I need a valve of some kind but I'm at a loss?

About 3 weeks ago I ripped down my 30 gallon aquarium, scrubbed it out, and put new gravel in it. The water turned cloudy about 5 days later and had a strong ammonia smell. The manager at our local Petco suggested my filter system may need repaired. I took my filter apart to examine the parts and they did show signs a wear, so I bought a new one online about 2 weeks ago. It's a Whisper filter designed for a slightly bigger tank. It cleared the water up just a little, then it got bad again. I only have 4 Gourami and 3 Catfish in the aquarium. I feed them a little bit in the morning and at night. We are rural people and have well water with a pH of 6.4. We do not put chemicals in the well, but I do used Petco brand water conditioner. The aquarium pH is 7.0. The water temperature is 78. I bought a testing kit, and the ammonia is at 1.0 ppm and the nitrite is 0.1 ppm. I changed 60% of the water on 11/22/08 and 50% last night, 11/26/08. The water smells bad already this morning. I know it can take some time for the ecosystem (algae, bacteria, etc.) of the tank to start working together, but I have never experienced the water smelling so bad. I have had this aquarium for about 7 years. What do you think is wrong with my aquarium? moreResolved Question: Is a Co2 diffuser really nessassary for a planted aquarium or could the plants thrive and flourish without it?

My husband and I recently purchased a 55 gallon aquarium. We have all that we need: filtration, heater, air pump, etc. and we both have experience with freshwater tanks. Since this is the biggest we have ever had, we wanted to do something cool with the decorations and plants, but we need some visuals to picture it. We are planning to have community tropical fish - no cichlids or anything like that. I'm designing a house and I really like the idea of fish tanks, so does my client. Connected to the living room (the room with the two fish tanks) is the dinning room, I would like to incorporate one there, and in the courtyard as well. Would that be too many? I must add that the way each aquarium will be used is quite creative and not boring in the least. moreResolved Question: Can someone help me check my grammar? ?
Over time companies have designed their own logos, which in turn developed into a trademark. This was a way for the company to communicate to us what they were all about. A company’s logo does not have to be spectacular in term of design principles to be known. Small scratches can become a huge trademark such as Mc Donald’s, which is the biggest fast-food chain restaurant very famous with their big yellow M logo. Developing a logo is not as easy as it looks because some logo has its own means. So now, I am going to discuss my observation of the techniques of building a company logo which purposes is to discover what to be considered when creating a logo. Before you actually design the logo, you have to gather information first from your client. If it helps, you can make a questionnaire so that you understand the company style better because every client’s needs is different. Logo designer usually do an interview to get to know their client's wants and needs in a confidential way. This process is important to let your ideas and client’s ideas blend together, because sometimes what you think is good doesn’t appear to be good for others. If you work for a larger company, you may want to talk with only one person in order to avoid conflict source because of too many information. This first step is the most crucial step because you need to use your instinct in a very sensible way. This is important to allowed you obtain information that sometimes the clients himself doesn’t know that he even has. So you may want to pay extra attention while visiting the office to reflect the logo with the company well. For example, what color is the office, what technology is use, what is the trademark of the company, etc. Now that you have all the ideas from the client, your next step is to start create the logo from rough. The process of creating the logo itself is not just based on the color selections, but it has to convey the message well. Now, you will need pen and paper to write down all ideas that come into mind in any form that you like. The common way that has been done by professional designers is to write down anything that related to that company. Could be a descriptive word, the object related to that particular company, and anything that connects to it. For example for a company named Seventh Congress of Zoos and Aquariums you can write down seven, animals, vegetation, zoo, aquarium, and simplicity, but those are just a tiny example of it. I bet you can found a bunch more words from it or maybe try use thesaurus if you think it’s not effective enough. Then your next steps is to use your master design skills to do something with those magic words and get your tools again to doodle up some logo that you can think out of that words. moreResolved Question: Aquarium Design: Volcano, black sand, what Lighting?

http://www.petwebsite.com/rats.asp thats the site, I was researching rat care, and came across this, it's obviously misinformed because all the sites I've been to state the exact opposite (I only read housing but...) it states a glass aqarium is fine and wire cages are little used... Aquariums Aquariums can also be used to house a rat. These are draughtproof and relatively cheap but glass aquariums can be awkward to clean because of their heavy weight. Plastic aquariums however are much easier to clean being lighter but the sides tend to become scratched after a time. Aquariums make ideal cages for pregnant rats, nursing mothers and baby rats. A water bottle can be fixed to the side of an aquarium by using adhesive Velcro pads or some water bottles are designed to be hung and these can be hung from the top of the aquarium. It is always best to ensure a lid is fixed to an aquarium - this will ensure nothing is accidentally dropped on the rat, and will also help in preventing the rat to escape - most full grown rats are able to escape from aquariums which do not have lids. A wire mesh top is preferable to a solid lid with air holes as this prevents the build up of condensation. Metal Cages Cages made totally from metal are rarely seen these days and have a tendency to rust. Home-Made Cages Home-made cages can be made from a combination of wood and wire mesh and a piece of perspex - the base, back and two sides made from wood, a front perspex window and a wire mesh top within a wooden frame hinged at the back and with a little securing hook at the front. The disadvantage with this type of home-made cage is that the wood soaks the urine and so frequent cleaning is needed to keep the cage free from smell and rats do tend to gnaw the wood and so these types of cages may need repairing from time to time. Home-made cages can also be made from plastic storage boxes with wire mesh tops and these are cheap to make, easy to clean and draughtproof. The disadvantage is that they are usually solid coloured and so do not allow you to see the rat unless looking from above. thats what it says, is it incorrect, or is it me? Just wondered moreResolved Question: Can someone help me design my house like a bond villain's lair?

I realize that it is a bad idea to add objects to a fish tank that were not designed for aquarium use. I have some action figures I would like to add to my tank for fun and I am worried they will leach chemicals into the water. Is there a glaze or sealer I could coast these objects with that would make them safe for aquarium use? moreResolved Question: How are you at setting up fish tanks for display purposes?

Ok, I've read all these aquarium design books, and got an idea for my dream tank. Is this possible? → In a rectangular tank, you get gravel and bank it up so its higher at the back, but more than usual. Then get driftwood and rocks and stick them in it, so its a bit like a buried wall. Fill it up with water, but only 3/4 of the way up the bank. Plant it and decorate. Cover all the gravel layer with sand, just on top, so it looks like its all sand. Add some Thai Red Clawed Crabs, a little school of tetras, some bristle noses / clown loaches and snails. Would this work. Would it be possible to add newts? There would be land for the crabs cos I only fill the tank up to 3/4 of the bank, leaving a kind of beach at the top. moreResolved Question: i want to make a diy canister filter for my 55 gallon aquarium, what size container should i use ?

just need some re-assurance on how i am planning to build my budget fishtank. i am planning to make it into a triangle shape to fit into a corner, i will have it protrude from the corner 34" and have a 48" face, where the corner would have been will be cut out to 10" from the corner to accomidate for filter and other lines. this will leave an overall trapezoid shape. It will look like this \/ \/ \/ from above. ______48"_______ \........................ / ..\...................../ 24"\................/ .......\.........../ .........\____/ 14.1" that is the BASIC shape, note the angles are all bad though. i will be building the back sides and bottom out of wood, tar them, and then place a layer of thin acrylic or plexiglass on every surface sealed with aquarium safe silicone. for the front i will be using a two foot tall 46" wide 1/2 inch thick piece of glass siliconed to the inside of two 2" lips creating a strong brace. i will try to scan the design so you can get a better look at it. so i would like thoughts on where it may be weak how i could improve it and other things. moreResolved Question: I have a glass tank designed for an iguana. I'm planning on getting a pair of campbells dwarfs or a pair of robos in the next month or so and I'd love to get a new cage while I'm at it. I've used mainly aquariums and wire cages (I've had mostly bar chewers though so I've mostly used the aquarium), but I'd like to get something with room for expansion and tubes. First on my list is the habitrail Ovo, I've heard a bunch of good reviews on it for dwarf hammies, the only thing I'm worried about is the water bottle leaking. Anyone use this cage? How do you like it? If I buy this one I'll buy the habitrail mini tubes so the dwarfs can actually climb around without free falling through the huge tubes, poor little guys. This is the habitrail ovo using habitrail mini tubes: http://homepage.mac.com/cherrypop/Blog/files/page0_blog_entry3_1.jpg The other cage I'm thinking about is the habitrail mini, its got a great design and is made for dwarfs. I'm worried about them chewing the bars though or maybe chewing through the plastic litter guard and getting loose while I'm at work or something. this is the habitrail mini: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2129/2415042369_604535fae4_o.jpg Which ever cage I get I'm planning on buying the ovo den and transport units as expansions and I will be using the mini tubes, I just need a new main cage. I live in florida so I'm also worried about how hot it gets for the little guys, which s why I want to trade in my aquarium for something a little airier or maybe with more room. Any advice or idea would be great. moreResolved Question: Clear, drink-safe sealant for acrylic?
I'm going to be building a model of a cup I designed out of stacked, lasercut acrylic pieces (I'm taking a SolidWorks model, slicing it horizontally, and building the cup from those slices). Ideally, this cup will be actually useable, which would require that the acrylic be somehow sealed in a way that is both watertight and non-toxic. I have had experience with using acrylic solvent to create strong bonds between pieces, and I think that I could make it watertight if I'm careful- but are there any toxic chemicals still present after the stuff dries? The other way I've thought of is to use aquarium-grade silicon, since that is reasonably clear and is both watertight and nontoxic- but it's also very thick, and a thinner formula would be far better suited for my purposes. Has anyone used one of these methods before? Does anyone know of any sealants that fit my needs? Thanks for any help you can give. moreResolved Question: Why is the rena xp3 filter sooo "bad" in my turtle tank?
( And it is not defective, it is just apparently a bad quality filter) ok, i got a rena xp3 filter for my 50 gallon tank. I have a 3 inch red eared slider, i know they are extremely messy sooo thats why i got the filter. I set it up, and it is running accuratly, but it does a horrrrrrrrrrible job filtering the water!!! I thought the rena xp3 was the best canister filter out there so i am wondering why it only filters half of my tank, and the other half is still filled with food, waste, etc. My tank only has one turtle and no fish ( that live there anyways..) and the rena xp3 is designed for heavily stocked 100 gallon aquariums, so i am wondering why it is soo weak, that it is not powerful enough to filter my whole tank!???I only have 40 gallons of water in it!! What should i do, i lost the receipt, so i cant return the filter, and now i am cleaning the tank much more often then i did before with my $25 filter. What a rip off!!!!!!! moreResolved Question: How to take perfect care of a 80g fish tank, with koi fishes and an arowana?
I'm kind of new to taking care of an aquarium. I've had a smaller fish tank with gold fishes, but I didn't add any kind of designs to it. What I really want to do with my 80g fish tank is to design it really nice. I'm making it a freshwater tank with sand at the bottom, rocks, plants, everything. I've done some research, I've looked up on yahoo answers, and tried everything but nothing really answered my questions or maybe I'm asking the wrong ones. Since I want to design my fish tank really life-like, would it be a perfect environment for koi fishes and arowanas? Typical tanks for these fishes are just a plain tank filled with koi fishes and arowanas without ANY plants or rocks. But to me this is to plain, and I really want to design it to the fullest, but would it damage any of the fishes? Any tips of keeping my fish tank clean would really help, thank you.Addition: I'm a big fan on keeping real plants, keeping everything as real as possible, but I'm sure with real plants it would be harder to keep clean. Any advice?Addition2: Well I've seen Koi fishes in 60 to 80g tanks, and they were pretty big and there were quiet a few of them and they did fine. But I'm not sure how long they will last, because I know they are pond fishes. I see how I can't put the fishes together, but I've seen it work. People told me that I just have to buy them at the same size and let them grow together. But since I can't put the 2 fishes together, what do you guys recommend to make my fish tank look... colorful and beautiful with all the rocks and plants?Addition3: One more question if I just had an arowana, would it hurt it if I added the decorations such as stacking rocks? Would it stay on the surface or go around the rocks? I also would like to feed it goldfishes :) moreResolved Question: Hair for Graphic Design interview?

Okay, I asked this a few days ago but only got one good answer soooo.... I have a 75-Gallon Aquarium. and I want to make it the best! I want 75% of it to be water, but have a part of it land. I want it not to be super-hard to clean either, but I know to make this possible, it is going to be difficult to clean and thats okay. Look at this pic of my design [im not an artist! haha] and tell me what I could use to make it. The thick, black line on the bottom... what can it be made out of?
